Artichoke Open Mics
Portland's Favorite!

Every Thursday evening, the Artichoke Cafe stage comes alive with fresh, homegrown songs written and performed by Portland's community of songwriters. Musicians of all levels of experience are invited to participate and the non-performing public is heartily welcome as well! We alternate every week between the long-running and successful Songwriter Roundup, a unique open mic with a featured performer playing a half-hour set, and our new Acoustic Village, which sets a theme for the evening, like tributes to venerable songwriters from the past and evenings devoted to themes like "Love" or "Peace" or "Social Change". So join us each Thursday night for a wonderful night of grassroots music!

Songwriter Roundup
Come early and put your name in the hat!

Join us every other Thursday night for our celebration of songwriting and Portland's vibrant songwriter community. Musicians of all levels of experience are invited to play an original song during the evening. The Roundup is always a unique and wonderful experience for players and listeners alike! Hosted by Matt Meighan.

Come early and put your name in the hat. During the show, we choose names at random to get up and perform. And every other Thursday during the show, we feature a half-hour set from one of the Roundup's favorite artists.

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday Night
7:00pm (Come early to put your name in the hat)
Admission: $5.00

Beer, wine, coffee, tea and light snacks are available at every show!

Acoustic Village
A Theme Based Open Mic

Join us every other Thursday night for an open mic like no other. Each evening follows a theme that encourages musicians to explore a broad range of musical genres. Some of the evenings are set aside for tributes to musicians we all know and love – Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and Utah Phillips nights are all on the calendar for upcoming nights. Others are dedicated to a celebration of a big theme such as love (anybody know a love song?), peace, change, protest. Other Acoustic Village nights are reserved for a specific genre such as blues, roots, instrumental, classical or a true irish session.

Musicians of all levels are encouraged to bring a song (original or cover) to share. This is a night to celebrate music and build community. Come early, put your name on the list and join our Acoustic Village.

Every 2nd and 4th Thursday Night
7:00pm (Come early to put your name on the list)
Admission: $5.00
