About the Class:
This is an introductory level class for students with little to no previous flamenco guitar experience. Guitarists will learn about flamenco guitar right hand techniques including rasgueados, rest stroke picado, arpeggios, and marcajes. The class will focus on two different palos (flamenco song forms) Tangos, and Solea. Students will have the opportunity to perform at the student showcase on June 6th.
Some previous experience with guitar and first position chords is helpful but not necessary.
Nylon string guitar required, loaner guitars available at the studio.
Fall 14 weeks:
9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/21*, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1, 12/8, 12/15
*There will be no class on 10/20 (Rafael Ramirez’s ‘Cronica de un Suceso’ at the Alberta Rose Theatre). Instead, class will meet Tuesday 10/21 at 8:00pm for flamenco singing with Rosa Linero and Fabiola Santiago
Class hourly cost:

$16/hr 3 installments (10% discount)
$14/hr Full Session (20% discount)
If you elect to pay for the session in 3 installments you will receive invoices for the 2nd and 3rd payments.
