ONLINE CLASS VIA ZOOM. Tracy will send a link to access the workshop once you are registered.

This on-line class is for the student who wishes to get started playing Gypsy Jazz in the style of Django Reinhardt. All instruments are welcome to join in.  Taught by Tracy Kim, this special class designed as an introduction to this style is only offered once a year. Students will learn the most important songs of the Gypsy Jazz repertoire. These songs have been especially selected by Tracy just for the beginner/intermediate players.

Tracy will teach students to improvise and to understand the sounds of Django Reinhardt and the Gypsy Jazz Style! Tabs will be used for guitarists, ukulele players, and mandolinists. Standard notation for all other instruments.

Tracy Kim has been playing and teaching Gypsy Jazz for about 20 years. He has developed a teaching method using particular exercises and licks that will teach the student how to simplify their thinking and focus on playing lyrical, melodic, and swinging improvisations in the style of Django Reinhardt.

The songs chosen for the class are popular tunes often called at jam sessions.
