Description:

This is for all instruments and all levels!

This round of Sunday easy swing workshop will focus completely on Frank Sinatra!
Tracy has chosen 9 classic songs to teach in the course of 4 sessions(meets bi weekly). These hand-picked songs are some of Frank Sintra’s most recognizable recorded classics. A fantastic way to elevate your Sunday and make it a swinging week!

During the online workshop, we will listen, analyze, and discuss everything from the arrangement, intros, endings, interludes, chord progression, melody, and of course, most importantly, Frank Sinatra‘s vocal phrasing and interpretation of the song! We will then learn each song both with melody and chords(for all the accompaniment instruments).

The focus will be on the guitar, however, all instruments are welcome to join in. Tabs will be provided for the guitar, ukulele, and mandolin. Standard notation will be provided for all other instruments.

Here is the list of love songs we will choose from for this term: As Time Goes By, In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning, Strangers in the Night, That’s All, and of course, his epic, My Way.  Don’t miss this workshop!

For guitarists, ukulele(low G), and mandolin, tabs will be used.  Other instruments are welcome and the emphasis will be on learning melodies and improvisation.  Many of the songs will have an accompanying etude specifically designed to demonstrate improvisation ideas in swing style from easy to intermediate/advanced level.
