This beautifully preserved Vega Whyte Laydie No. 2, serial number 61570, dates to around 1920–1921 and showcases the exceptional craftsmanship that made Vega one of the premier banjo makers of the early 20th century.

 

Featuring the renowned Whyte Laydie tone ring, this banjo delivers a warm, rich tone with excellent clarity and projection—ideal for clawhammer, frailing, or fingerstyle playing. The maple neck and rim, ebony fingerboard, and original bracket band and hardware reflect classic Vega design. The star inlays on the headstock and fretboard mark this as the more ornate No. 2 model. It has been updated with modern geared tuners for improved functionality, while maintaining its vintage character.

 

Comes with a hard shell case for safe transport and storage.
